Helenites Finished 2nd in 2024 USVISF Premier League
Helenites Sports Club not only demonstrated skill and tenacity in the 2024 US Virgin Islands Soccer Federation Men’s League “BIG 4” Championship but also stayed true to their commitment to youth development. This year, the club proudly fielded three 16-year-old players in the championship, a testament to their dedication to nurturing young talent. Despite their youth, these players performed admirably, contributing significantly to Helenites’ journey to the finals.
The team’s impressive run was marked by Kersan Marcellin’s remarkable hat trick against LRVI, which was crucial in securing their place in the final. Although Marcellin suffered an injury that impacted the team’s performance against Rovers, Helenites showcased their depth and resilience, driven by a mix of experienced leaders and promising young stars.
Their inclusion of young players underscores Helenites’ vision for sustainable success through investing in future generations. This strategy promises a bright outlook for the club as they prepare for a strong comeback in 2025, with hopes of reclaiming their dominance in the BIG 4.
As Helenites look forward to the next season, their focus on youth empowerment and development continues to energize the local soccer community.
